I’ve been to my fair share of conventions & festivals, but PAX is unique.

PAX (originally known as Penny Arcade Expo) is a series of gaming culture festivals involving tabletop, arcade, and video gaming. PAX is held annually in Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, and San Antonio in the United States; and Melbourne in Australia.

One of the biggest reasons I was eager to move closer to Seattle (from Northern CA at the time), was to indulge in the video game culture & game development industry that seemed to be centered around the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Going on my 3rd year here in the PWN, I’d have to say that PAX has been one of my favorite annual events. I went 1 day my 1st year (because we had JUST moved here and ticked were sold out).

Last year & this year however, I work the VR demo area at PAX & it’s so much fun contributing to this type of event. In particular I loved working with VR demonstration, because an estimated 1,000 people per day got to try VR where I was working. Some are long-time enthusiasts, while for many it was their 1st times.

For anyone planning to attend PAX, Twitch Con or other meetups for fellow streamers, creatives & those in the tech or game dev industry, I recommend printing nice cards & having as much fun as possible!

I’ll be taking more video footage this year for my PAX West 2019 Vlog. This time I plan to talk to friends with Twitch / Youtube channels or any game devs willing to say hi and tell me about their project(s) for my Youtube video.
