Why I Built This

Most accessibility tools only check your site in one mode—usually light mode—completely ignoring that 85% of developers prefer dark mode and modern websites need to work in both.

While auditing my own site (which uses Bootstrap 5.3's data-bs-theme for dark mode), I realized every existing tool missed half the issues. Manual theme toggling, screenshots, hand-comparing contrast ratios... tedious and error-prone.

Site Auditor solves this—for me and every developer shipping dark mode websites.

Site Auditor Pro Interface

Clean, intuitive interface for comprehensive site audits

What Makes It Different

Dual-Mode Contrast Analysis

The only free tool that audits both light AND dark mode automatically. It detects @media (prefers-color-scheme: dark), Bootstrap's [data-bs-theme="dark"], and Tailwind's .dark class—providing separate WCAG AA/AAA compliance reports for each mode.

Actionable Color Fix Suggestions

Unlike tools that just say "this fails," Site Auditor provides 3 specific color alternatives for every issue with calculated contrast ratios and WCAG level indicators.

Live CSS Variable Editor

Extract CSS variables from any website, customize colors in real-time with separate light/dark mode editors, and export modified Bootstrap themes instantly.

Comprehensive Auditing

Beyond accessibility: CSS quality analysis, JavaScript bundle optimization, performance scoring, and auto-fix suggestions for common issues.

Final Thought

Accessibility isn't optional anymore. With legal requirements like WCAG 2.1 AA becoming standard, and users expecting both light and dark modes, developers need tools that make compliance easy, not painful.

Site Auditor is my contribution to making the web more accessible, one audit at a time. Other tools in this lane: Syn Themes, fin-sig, and the PDF Designer local resume studio.
